That is what the countdown on my laptop reads as I type this first blog post.
I have 4 months until I see my girl's faces light up in delight as they are blessed to enjoy a vacation of a lifetime. 5 glorious days in the Disney World Theme parks with some of their favorite people. The trip, a celebration of my in-law's (MIL- E, FIL- M) 40'th wedding anniversary, is a gift from my in-law's to us (Husband S, daughters E-3 years and H-1 year, BIL-J and BIL's GF-B.)
I have been excitedly planning the trip with my MIL, and then it hit me. How am I going to be able to really enjoy this trip if half way through day one my thighs have begun to chafe and by that night I'm in extreme pain? That pain won't be gone the morning of day 2. No, I will still be chafed and in pain and although I will pull it together, days 2-5 will be pretty miserable.
SO.... the next 117 days I will work to change that. I don't expect body to morph into that of a super model, or even the one I had the last time I was what I refer to as skinny me. I just want to be able to wear shorts and not be uncomfortable and not have to worry about fat rubbing raw.
No, these are not pleasant images. But they are images I plan to change!
Tonight I ate the last of my ice cream. Tomorrow I start eating withing reason and will start some sort of exercise. Tonight I will Google and Pin until I find SOMETHING to help me get on the right track!

Oh my gosh I wish I had seen your blog months ago. I am headed to WDW February 13-18. I have been walking and watching what I am eating everyday knowing that from sun up to sun down my legs are going to be agonizing over toting my big ole butt around the parks. I don't have any little ones to chase around anymore but my dh who can consume an entire turkey leg followed by a dole whip and warm funnel cake and still run circles around me. Did I mention he has never weighed more then 180 pounds soaking wet! Ugh!!!! So here I am .....have lost only 12 pounds and only have 20 days left. I know eating right during vacation is Not going to happen. To many temptations. I will bring some healthy alternatives for snacks though. I wish you all the luck in the world and hope to keep track of your progress. Cheers and many many many encouraging thoughts your way!
ReplyDeleteI am glad to know that someone else is doing the same thing! i want to lose as much as possible we are going in May and i would like to be able to walk about 5 miles with out my feet screaming at me!!!!!!!! last time we went I told myself that before we came back I had to lose some weight, and get moving. So far I have lost 20lbs and plan to lose 30 more hopefully :)
